Canine Capers/Demonstrations/Events

Please note - the 2011 DoggieDoo Event has been cancelled due to the weather.

Several fun "Canine Capers" are held during the day, along with various demonstrations and other dog & owner activities. We encourage people and their dogs to enter the contests! "Sign-up' is all that's required for participation!

The contests and demonstrations take place from 12 to 3 P.M., in a ring at the south side of Tappan Square (closest to West College St.).

Jim Z the Accordion Player and his dog Holly will also be in attendance.

Prizes will be awarded to the winning dogs and owners, and winners will featured in the Pooch Parade, which assembles at 3:15 P.M., and starts at 3:30 P.M.

Capers:

  • 12:00 - Doggie Idol (Best Singing Dog);
  • 12:30 - Dance Your Tail Off (Best Dancing Dog);
  • 1:00 - Best Bunch (Costume Contest for 2 or More Dogs);
  • 1:45 - Oberlin's Got Talent (Best Trick); and
  • 2:15 - Coolest Canine (Costume Contest for 1 Dog)

Demonstrations are presented by:

Total Canine Obedience, Tina Carey, 440-522-6090
Tina will be doing a demonstration in the contest ring at 1:30. She will be giving free consultations throughout the day at her site.

Events:

Lorain County Kennel Club
The “Meet the Breeds Education Series” is provided by the Lorain County Kennel Club from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A chance to meet and get to know more about the many dog breeds available.
